A fascinating program on stabilizing t-shirts for making t-shirt quilts was presented by Jeanette Reddick.
The minutes for the May, 2009 meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer’s report: $3,059.36.
Ginny Stevens reported that two blocks for the friendship quilt are still out. Since Ginny has recently had surgery on her right hand, it will probably be the August meeting before the top is completed.
Meg McKinney reported that she has gotten in a number of good suggestions for School Days. She will present them at the July meeting and a decision will be made at that time.
It was announced that Heart to Heart Quilt Shop has a new co-owner and will remain open as usual.
It was announced that there may be some openings remaining in classes at the Symposium this coming weekend at St. Bernard’s.
A quilt show will be held at Oak Mountain on June 20.
The tip for this month was on using “found” items for paper piecing – old phone books, interfacing, used dryer sheets.
A reminder was given that the July meeting will be in Room 206.
Fat Quarter winners were Kathy Tubbs and Kathy English.
There were 26 members and one visitor present.
The fat quarter theme for July is vacation. Refreshments will be provided by Beth Arnett and Lila Barton.
The meeting concluded with Show & Tell, and the members were challenged by Cheryl Clabaugh to make at least one quilt for the NICU and bring it to the August meeting.
