Minutes for Heart of Dixie Quilter’s Guild, April 12, 2010 meeting:
The minutes from the April 8, 2010 meeting were approved as posted on the guild’s website.
Beth Arnett, treasurer, reported a balance of $3,098.42.
Linda Layfield reported on the retreat. Members enjoyed the retreat, but this is the last year for the location at Ivy Creek, as they are closing.
Dianna Kennedy suggested a fall retreat at Camp Cottaquilla, which is near Jacksonville, with tentative date in October 22 weekend; price will be $125.00.
Linda Layfield passed out the pattern for the Block of the Month, Umbrella.
Lila Barton reported that Friendship blocks are due at the May meeting.
Mary Ann Raley, president, discussed two upcoming quilt shows: the American Quilter’s Society Show in Paducah, Kentucky, April 23; and the Alabama Quilt Symposium, in Cullman, June 10; and also a quilt retreat in Branson, Missouri.
Attendance was 26 with 1 visitor.
The program was presented by Elaine Rasco on hand quilting.
Fat quarters were won by Elaine Rasco, Dianna Kennedy, Judy Nixon.
